The lock is die-cast from zinc alloy so its extremely corrosion-resistant, and the knob has been powder-coated for additional protection. As part of the reliable RS PRO range, the latch has been stringently tested by engineers to ensure it meets safety standards. It conforms to the American National Standards Institutes Electrostatic Discharge Association (ANSI/ESD S20.20:2014) standard, as well as British Standard European Norm (BS EN 61340-5-1:2007) electrostatic discharge standards. Its also RoHS compliant on restricted hazardous substances.
