RS PRO BS Thermocouple Connector for use with Type J Thermocouple Type J, StandardThis RS PRO standard Type J thermocouple connector plug has solid, round plug pins and is suitable for industrial and general use. Its colour-coded black and is compatible with older temperature reading equipment. With polarised contacts to ensure a correct connection, this in-line plug accepts thermocouple cables with a diameter up to 6.5 mm. The contacts are made from true thermocouple alloys and the hardwearing unit can sustain a maximum continuous operating temperature of +220°C. Type J thermocouples work best in non-oxidising atmospheres. All RS PRO’s thermocouples and thermocouple connectors are colour coded according to international standards for ease of identification. Type J models are colour coded black in accordance with IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) and ANSI (American National Standards Institute) regulations.
