It also prevents mechanical damage should foreign bodies fall into blade mechanisms. Eight concentric circles are joined by a pair of cross spars. Integral fixing loops mean the fan guard can be fitted easily to the fan case. The finger guard measures 115.6 mm across and is suitable for a standard 120 mm frame fan. Its made from steel wire in a black colour, and its welded joints are robust enough to withstand 88 lbs of pull force and 220 lbs of separation force.
